1. Purpose
This policy sets out the rules we follow, and require our clients to follow, when we build or operate WhatsApp and other business messaging, AI assistants and automations. It applies together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Platform rules apply
Messaging through Meta products must follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, the Meta Terms for WhatsApp Business, the Meta Platform Terms and the Meta Developer Policies. If these differ from this page, the platform rules apply. SIMIE MEDIA is an independent agency and is not affiliated with Meta.
3. Opt-in: permission comes first
- Business-initiated messages are sent only to people who have clearly agreed to receive them from that business, on that channel.
- The request for permission must say who is messaging, that messages will arrive on WhatsApp, and what kind of messages to expect.
- We do not use purchased, rented or scraped contact lists, and we do not message people only because their number is publicly visible.
- Clients keep a record of when and how each person opted in.
4. Opt-out: easy and immediate
- Every person can stop messages at any time, for example by replying STOP.
- We set up assistants and automations to honour opt-outs promptly and to stop all non-essential messages to that person.
- We never make opting out difficult, and we do not message people again after an opt-out unless they clearly opt in again.
5. Message templates and timing
Business-initiated messages outside the customer service window use message templates approved by the platform. Templates must be accurate, relevant to the opt-in, and free of misleading or prohibited content. We do not use templates to bypass platform rules.
6. Content rules
Messages must not:
- be deceptive, misleading, harassing, threatening or discriminatory;
- promote illegal products or services, or items prohibited by the WhatsApp Commerce Policy;
- ask customers to share sensitive information such as card numbers, passwords or government ID numbers in chat;
- impersonate another person or business, or imply endorsement by Meta or WhatsApp;
- be sent in high volume or repeatedly to people who have not asked for them.
7. AI assistants
- Customers are told when they are talking to an AI assistant.
- A person can always ask for a human, and complex or sensitive questions are handed to the client’s team.
- Assistants answer only from information the client has approved, and say when they do not know.
- Assistants are not used for decisions with legal or similar significant effects on a person, such as credit, employment or insurance eligibility.
8. Quality and monitoring
We watch message quality indicators such as blocks and reports, reduce frequency or change content when quality drops, and review conversations with clients to improve answers and catch problems early.
9. Client responsibilities and enforcement
Clients are responsible for having valid permission from their customers and for the accuracy of what is sent. We may refuse, pause or end work that breaks this policy or platform rules, or that we reasonably believe could harm recipients. If you receive a message you did not ask for, tell us at info@simiemedia.com and we will act on it.
